Delivery & Age-Restricted Items
Some items we sell — mainly bladed collectables and historical replicas — are age-restricted under UK law. Here's exactly what that means, in plain English, and how it affects buying and delivery.
Why some items are age-restricted
The Crime and Policing Act 2026 sets strict rules for selling bladed items online in the UK, on top of the earlier Criminal Justice Act 1988 and Offensive Weapons Act 2019. It's illegal to sell most bladed items to anyone under 18, and sellers are required to genuinely verify this — a tick-box alone is no longer enough.
Genuinely old, antique pieces sold as historical curios can sometimes be treated differently to modern replicas under these rules — we treat that on a case-by-case basis rather than assuming it, since getting it wrong carries real legal risk for a small business.
How it works when you buy an age-restricted item
- At the basket: you'll be asked to confirm you're 18 or over before the item can be added.
- At checkout: you'll verify your age through Veriff, an identity verification service — a quick, secure check (an ID document scan) before payment is taken.
- At delivery: bladed items are sent using Royal Mail's Tracked Age Verification service, which checks the recipient's ID at the door — it won't be left in a safe place, a parcel locker, or with a neighbour.
Age-verification fee and accounts
Each new ID check costs us money, so where an order needs a new check we add a separate £1.00 age-verification fee, shown before you pay.
If you create an account and sign in, your passed age check is saved to it for 90 days. Until it expires you don't need to verify again and there's no fee on repeat orders. Guests can still check out, but verify each time. We keep only the fact that you passed — never your ID images (see our privacy policy).
Delivery charges
Delivery is charged by the type of item in your basket, and shown at checkout before you pay. If your basket mixes types, the highest rate applies. You can choose standard or next-working-day delivery at checkout.
- Tracked, age-verified delivery: £4.99 standard (2 working days) or £6.49 next working day — standard delivery is free on orders of £60 or more
- Tracked, age-verified delivery (high-value): £5.99 standard (2 working days) or £6.99 next working day — standard delivery is free on orders of £150 or more
- Tracked delivery: £3.99 standard (2 working days) or £4.99 next working day
We deliver to addresses in the UK only.
Everything else on the site
Folding knives, outdoor knives, Damascus steel pieces, flip knives, reenactment replicas, camping gear, collectables, accessories and kids' toys are each individually marked — only items that are genuinely bladed or otherwise age-restricted carry these checks. Everything else is bought and delivered like any normal online order.
